AZ King Shepherds began with a love for the King Shepherd and grew into a commitment to understanding and developing the breed.

Since entering King Shepherd development in 2014, we have continued to learn, evaluate and make breeding decisions with the future of the breed in mind.

We believe breed development requires patience.

It requires understanding genetics, lineage, structure, temperament and the way different traits interact across generations.

It requires looking beyond a single beautiful puppy or a single successful litter.

Most importantly, it requires thinking about what today's breeding decisions mean for the dogs that will come years from now.

That is the responsibility we have chosen.

We don't simply breed King Shepherds. We are helping develop them.

Our Mission

To contribute to the continued development of the King Shepherd through thoughtful breeding, documented lineage, genetic responsibility, sound structure, stable temperament and responsible placement—while preserving the qualities that make the King Shepherd unique.

Our Vision

To help establish generations of King Shepherds that are recognizable for their soundness, temperament, structure, health, consistency and quality—and to leave the breed stronger than we found it.

That last sentence is particularly strong:

DEVELOPMENT

We think in generations, not just litters.

TRANSPARENCY

We believe prospective owners should be able to understand the lineage, breed composition, testing and reasoning behind the dogs they are considering.

HEALTH

Health and genetic responsibility are fundamental parts of breeding decisions.

TEMPERAMENT

A beautiful King Shepherd is not enough. The dog must also have a temperament appropriate to the breed and its intended life.

STRUCTURE

We value sound structure and physical qualities that support the long-term development of the breed.

KNOWLEDGE

We continually learn. Breed development requires education, observation, documentation and willingness to reconsider assumptions.

RESPONSIBILITY

Breeding creates a lifelong responsibility to the dogs we produce and the families who take them home.
